The Nectar of Thiruppugazh

Once, after defeating Kubera, his step-brother, King Ravana was returning from Alakapuri to Lanka in a Pushpaka Vimana. On the way, he had to cross Mount Kailash where Lord Shiva and Parvati devi were enjoying their private moments. To his surprise, Ravana found that he couldn't cross the mount, and Nandi, Shiva's attendant, politely asked Ravana to change course. Infuriated, Ravana decided to uproot the Kailash mountain. As he proceeded to lift it, Kailash began to shake, and a terrified Parvati embraced Shiva. However, the omniscient Shiva realized that Ravana was behind the menace and pressed the mountain into place with his big toe, trapping Ravana beneath it. Ravana gave a loud cry in pain. A few days ago, I received a Whatsapp message from one of the Bangalore Thiruppugazh Anbar Mrs. Vasantha Panchapakesan who is a well known speaker on Thiruppugazh-related topics. The message was as follows: இயல் என்றால் என்ன மேடம்? எனக்கு தெரிந்தது முத்தமிழ் இயல் , இசை நாடகம் என்பது... அருணகிரிநாதர் கந்தரநுபூதியில் இயல் சேர் செஞ்சொல் புனை மாலை என்கிறார்.. இயல் இசையில் உசித வஞ்சிக்கு அயர்வாகி இரவு பகல் மனது சிந்தித்து உழலாதே உனை எனதுள் அறியும் அன்பைத் தருவாயே என்கிறார். இயல் பரவு காதற் பெருமாள், இயல் புலியூர் வாழ் பெருமாள் என்கிறார்.. இயல் வேலுடன் மா அருள்வாயே என்கிறார்..அவன் கடைக்கண் இயலை காண வாருமே என்கிறார்.... இன்னும் இயல் என்ற வார்த்தையை இயல்பாய் எத்தனை பாக்களில் பாடியுள்ளார் என்று தெரியவில்லை ... தாங்கள் அந்த இயலை தொகுத்து வழங்கினால் என் மனம் ஆனந்தம் அடையும் என்று நினைக்கிறேன்... I jotted down a few instances from Thiruppugazh where the word 'iyal' is used and wrote a short commentary on it. Today, I noticed other voice messages From Mrs.Vasantha that had preceded t
