புலோமசை வீர மிக்க ஏழ் பேர் மாதர் (pulOmasai veera mikkka EzhpEr mAdhar): (IndrANi, wife of IndrA), the valorous seven mothers (Saptha MAthas), இந்திராணியும், வீரம் மிகுந்த சப்த மாதாக்களும்; "> சச்சி என்ற இந்திராணியும் சப்த மாதர்களில் ஒருவள்; புலோம குலத்தில் அசுரன் புலோமனின் மகள்.
Shachi is the daughter of Puloman, an asura son of the sage Kashyapa and his wife Danu. Virabhadra, Brahmani, Maheshvari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Indrani, Chamunda are regarded as forms of Devi (Durga) and known as seven mothers. Brahmani is the four-headed counterpart of Brahma; Maheshvari is the female counterpart of Shiva; Kaumari is counterpart of the warrior son of Shiva and Parvati; Vaishnavi is the counterpart of Vishnu; the boar-headed Varahi, counterpart of Varaha is an incarnation of Vishnu; Indrani is the counter-part of Indra and finally Chamunda is the only goddess who is not the counterpart of a male god, but represents a female form of Shiva's power.

விராகிணி (virAgiNi): You are without any attachment; பற்று அற்றவளே,

வீறுமிக்க மா வீணா கரே (veeRu mikka mA veeNA karE): You hold the famous Veena (Vipanchi Veena) in Your hand; சிறப்புமிக்க அழகிய (விபஞ்சி என்ற) வீணையை கையில் ஏந்தியவளே,

மகமேரு உற்று வாழ் சீரே (maha mEru utru vAzh seerE): You reside with grandeur in the Great KailAsh; மகாமேரு மலையில் தங்கி வாழும் சிறப்பை உடையவளே,

சிவாதரெ (sivAdharE ): You occupy the left side of SivA; சிவனுடைய உடலில் பங்கு கொண்டவளே,

அங்கராகீ (angarAgee): You wear fragrant scents on Your body; உடம்பெல்லாம் பரிமள கந்தங்களைப் பூசியவளே,

ஆதி சத்தி சாமாதேவி பார்வதி (Adhi saththi sAmA dhEvi pArvathi ): You are the prime Shakthi; You are the Goddess PArvathi, praised in Sama VEdha; ஆதிசக்தியே, சாமவேதம் போற்றும் தேவியே, பார்வதியே,

நீலி (neeli): You love violet flowers (NeelOthpala flowers); நீல நிறத்தவளே,

துத்தியார் நீள் நாக பூஷணி (thuththiyAr neeNAga bUshaNi): You wear as jewels long snakes with dotted designs; புள்ளிகள் நிறைந்த நீண்ட நாகங்களை ஆபரணமாக அணிந்தவளே, துத்தி(thuththi): the spots on the hood of a cobra,

ஆயி நித்தியே கோடீர மாதவி (Ayi niththiyE kOdeera mAdhavi): Mother, You are Eternal; and You are Durga with long tresses" அன்னையே, என்றும் இருப்பவளே, சடையுள்ள துர்கா தேவி,
