Paraphrase

Lord Murugan's lance or 'vel' symbolizes penetrating spiritual knowledge and wisdom that cuts away the ignorance (of not realizing its true nature) covering the soul. Vel is also a symbol of victory over 'adharma' (அறத்தை நிலை காணும்). God gives the soul a body, a physical world and senses to experience. He then hides himself and reveals the world. The soul (ஜீவன்), which is covered by Aanavam, is ignorant of its true nature/identity. It can gain knowledge only by His grace. When the soul is spiritually mature, God hides the world and bestows his grace. When the effects of aanavam are erased, the soul will be absorbed in God’s viyapagam (pervasiveness). This is the Victory of Lord's Vel, which destroys the veil of ignorance covering the soul.
