வெந்தது கோடி (vendhadhu kOdi) : and has been consumed by fire millions of times.

இனிமேலோ விண்டு விடாமல் (inimElO viNdu vidAmal) : In order that I don't separate from you,

உன் பத மேவு விஞ்சையர் போல (un padha mEvu vinjayar pOla ) : like the wise who desire and worship your feet,

அடியேனும் வந்து விநாச முன் கலி தீர (adiyEnum vandhu vinAsa mun kali theera ) : I too should avert the destructive karmas of previous births by worshipping Your feet,

வண் சிவ ஞான வடிவாகி (vaN siva nyAna vadivAgi) : (let me) embody Siva's form of knowledge, வளமையான ஞானத்தின் வடிவை அடைந்து,

வன் பதம் ஏறி என் களை ஆற (van padham ERi en kaLaiyARa) : and get liberated from the weariness of countless births and attain the strong moksha; வலிமையான முக்திப்பதத்தைப் பெற்று, என் பிறவிக் களைப்பு தீருமாறு; என் களை ஆற - பிறவியின் களைப்புத் தீரும் பொருட்டு

வந்தருள் பாத மலர்தாராய் (vandharuL pAdha malar thArAy) : kindly come and grant me your kind and lotus-like feet.

எந்தனுள் ஏக செம் சுடராகி (endhan uLEga sen chudarAgi) : Lighting and glowing in my heart as a unique red flame, ஏக = ஒப்பற்ற;

என் கணில் ஆடு தழல் வேணி (en kaNilAdu thazhal vENi) : and dancing in my eyes with His glowing tresses

எந்தையர் தேடும் அன்பர் சகாயர் (endhaiyar thEdum anbar sahAyar) : my father and a helper of those who seek Him with love, தேடும் அன்பர் சகாயர் = அன்பினால் தேடுகின்ற அடியவர்க்கு உதவுபவர்,
