Paraphrase

அனைவரும் மருண்டு அருண்டு கடிது என வெகுண்டு இயம்ப (anaivarum maruNdu aruNdu kadithu ena vegunNdu iyamba) : (Seeing the condition of my body) Everyone is scared and disgusted, and they chase me away contemptuously.

அமர அடி பின் தொடர்ந்து பிண நாறும் அழுகு பிணி கொண்டு விண்டு புழு உடல் எலும்பு அலம்பும் அவல உடலம் சுமந்து தடுமாறி (amara adi pin thodarnthu piNanARum azhugu piNi koNdu viNdu puzhu vudal elumbu alambum avala vudalam sumanthu thadumARi) : I totter behind them carrying the obnoxious body that stinks like a corpse with putrefying flesh, crawling with worms all over it, and I am in dire straits with bones shaking;

மனை தொறும் இதம் பகர்ந்து வரவர விருந்து அருந்தி மன வழி திரிந்து மங்கும் வசை தீர (manai thoRum itham pakarnthu varavara virunthu arunthi mana vazhi thirinthu mangum vasai theera) : Yet I go from door to door and obsequiously flatter people and feast with them, and lead a vagrant life. மறை சதுர் விதம் தெரிந்து வகை சிறு சதங்கை கொஞ்சு மலர் அடி வணங்க என்று பெறுவேனோ (maRai chathur vitham therinthu vagai siRu sathangai konju malar adi vaNanga enRu peRuvEnO) : will I ever learn the four vedas and worship your flower-like feet, which have melodiously tinkling anklets?

தினை மிசை சுகம் கடிந்த புன மயில் இளம் குரும்பை திகழ் இரு தனம் புணர்ந்த திரு மார்பா (thinai misai sukam kadintha puna mayil iLam kurumbai thikazh iru thanam puNarntha thirumArbA) : Your sacred chest presses against the twin bosoms of the peacock of the millet field (Valli) who used to chase away the parrots; சுகம் (sukam ) : parrot; இளம் குரும்பை ( iLam kurumbai) the young, unripe fruit of a palmyra or coconut palm
